Minnesota State University Mankato is Mankato's largest school, with an enrollment of about 14,000 and 600 full-time faculty. Dr. Richard Davenport is the current president.

The majority of campus is located near Stadium Road and Warren Street.

The athletic teams are the Mavericks.

The men's and women's ice hockey teams both compete in the WCHA.

Other athletic teams compete in the North Central Conference of NCAA Division II.
