Mankato West High School is located on South Riverfront Drive and Stoltzman Road near Highway 169. It is one of two high schools in the Mankato area. The school serves the 9th through 12th grades.

Mankato West High School is a three-story L-shaped building with a mechanical annex and sports stadium. Included within the main building is a full auditorium seating over 1,200 people, two gymnasiums, and a swimming pool. Students attend classes from 8:15 AM until 3:05 PM.

The Mankato West athletic teams are known as the Scarlets.
