ALDI is a grocery store located on Madison Avenue and Bassett Drive, across from Kwik Trip. Opened in July 2007, it is Mankato's newest grocery store. ALDI focuses on reducing costs wherever possible in order to provide the lowest prices in town on many items. Most of the products carried are store brands, but quality typically meets or exceeds name brands available elsewhere.
ALDI accepts cash, electronic bank transfers, and some debit cards. Checks and credit cards are not accepted.
Grocery bags cost 5¢ each, or you can bring your own. This helps reduce costs and encourage reuse.
To help reduce costs associated with cart collection and damage, shopping carts must be "rented" for 25¢. Deposit a quarter to unlock your cart from the cart storage area, and return your cart after shopping to get your quarter back.
